Launch...Isabel Marant for H&M

Yet another impressive fashion collaboration from the house of H&M. This time round they've lured french designer Isabel Marant. Click here for the full collection {which will be available to the masses on November 14, 2013}.

It's a venture pieced together brilliantly; staying true to the spirit and flare of both heavy weights: french chic mixed with swedish minimalism and practicality. A classic combination that never seems to bore consumer markets and fashionistas alike. A collection that will endure the test of time against the ever changing fashion trends, and OMG there are so many out there right now I can't keep up.

Don't get me wrong there are a few out-there pieces in the form of fringe-tassle features, foil-look textures, aztec inspired prints to appeal to any daring individual. But I for one, as of late, has had to face the reality that rebuilding her wardrobe with the certainty of moving once again to live out my wanderlust lifestyle has had to limit herself to behaving in a manner of shopping smarter and wiser (in style and dollar value). Isabel Marant's H&M collection ticks all the boxes: truly versatile piece(s) to invest in. Yes they are investment pieces in my eyes. I am succumbing myself to a trend: the priceless trend; the basic trend.

Electric Blue

London weather simply can't make up it's mind. It's meant to be spring, nay, it's meant to be summer next month yet it's still dreary and cold. The rain has held up and occasionally the sun peeps through the clouds. But when you see that glorious blue sky it certainly brings a smile to one's face. Just in time for some upcoming seasonal events in my calendar {Saturday's Chelsea Flower Show outing, and in two weeks Ladies Day at MINT's Polo in the Park}. Will you be attending? I'm currently surfing the racks on the online shelves to find my "next outfit". What to wear??

Here's my current inspiration...

Eternally Classic

The past three weeks have been go go go with work and exploring both Ireland and the serene Scottish Highlands {separate post to come}. Despite seeing such wonder, it can be a bit stressful trying to fit so much in a 2 or 3 day weekend. Therefore, I find myself this morning, a bright sunny (yet equally cold) Saturday morning demanding a lazy day with tea, chocolate, and catching up on my neglected online articles, this blog, photo editing, and pinterest for planning {online shopping and for future trips} all while listening to the classic pieces of Chopin, Debussy and company - a classically graceful state of mind.

Two In One

OMG! I am not usually a sucker for those in between youtube video advertisements, but I saw a quick makeup demonstration ad for Lancome's new beauty product: Teint Visionnaire - a two in one colour matched foundation AND concealer. About time! In fact it's a three in one as the inside of the lid of the concealer is a trusty mirror. Finally...multitasking at it's best. And we women know all about multitasking - we invented it. {Happy International Women's Day btw}. Of course I went out and bought one and even had a lovely British make up assistant do me all up. I've been using it for the last few days {as I had run out of my last stock pile} and boy it's light. It still allows your skin to breathe, plus upon closer inspection it also happens to have SPF 20 - you've become a four in one my trusty stick of magic. ha ha. Thank you Lancome

Grey In A Sea of Coral

As per my last post highlighting the fact that spring is poking her beautiful head around the corner; all I can think of is what is yet to come...blooms of fresh colour. All the pretty flowers in either its soft or rich shades. My current musings: blush, tangerine and a grey coat - a delicate mixture of warmth - both from the lingering cool air, and the  touch of the suns rays on one's cheek {wearing your grey coat as a cape is optional but #trending ha ha}.

Expect more outfit inspirations to come as I get giddy {like a school girl} eagerly watching the temperature gauge slowly reach double digits!

Spring Is In Bloom

As I walked home today from work I looked up and still saw sunshine. Oh yes, spring is slowly creeping up on us. It even reached 15 degrees here in London town. Me thinks it's time to plan those vacations involving sun, surf and sand. Hmmm Croatia...I think yes! In the mean time the sun and pending floral blooms had me dreaming of my spring/summer wardrobe. Insert outfit post inspiration here:

Stella McCartney

I have to admit, I like to spoil myself from time to time. What woman doesn't! However, I am trying to cut that habit down a little to increase my travel budget {emphasis on trying}. But I found these beauties recently and just had to have it - Stella McCartney lace balconette bra and matching underwear. The delicate lace details, the soft blush tone - certainly puts a smile on my face just thinking that it's mine. Thank you Stella McCartney for creating such a gem! Thank you Net-A-Porter for making online shopping such a convenience. No crowds, no fuss, and might I say the impressive packaging and delivery service puts you guys on another level. Certainly made me feel like a VIP. Well done!

Trending NYFW Fall 2013

New York fashion week is now done and dusted (with London fashion week now in full swing). Did anyone notice a certain combo trend on the streets of New York: shades of primary colour and coats as capes. I personally loved it. Mixing two of my favourites. Both classic and fun.

Guilty Pleasures From Home

As much as I love living in my new home {current city: London} there are certain aspects of my life that I miss. Apart from the obvious, family and friends, there was one guilty pleasure that I miss dearly - my regular visits to Zimmermann's Brisbane CBD store. Reason 1) to see what was on offer and 2) catchups with Vella, the cute bubbly sales assistant where I could play dress up and test out the new stock. These sessions occasionally ended with me splurging on myself. {Trust me, if you've ever tried on a piece you'd want to take it home too!}

Nothing beats going in store and physically touching the beauty that has been produced. Seeing first hand a designer's vision become reality; delicate fabrics, vibrant prints, perfectly draping over the natural curves of a woman's body. Can you see why I miss it. For now I'm just going to have to click through the various pages of their website and social media sites. Maybe sneak in a little alone time with the pieces I was able to bring with me to London. Sigh.

Here is my favourite print, done three ways, from their upcoming RTW Spring/Summer collection. I am such a sucker for floral. Subtle, feminine, timeless.

Christmas Runway

I'm so excited about Christmas that I'm mentally dreaming and planning what my outfits will be for the upcoming festivities. It will be my first cold wintery Christmas so I've had to overhaul my complete train of thought when it comes to dressing for the season. A much welcomed change from the summer heat back in Oz to chilling by the fire drinking mulled wine. Oh to be british.

Mac Holiday

Not having internet for two weeks due to my friends and I travelling through the middle east {post coming soon I promise} means extreme build up of emails. Eek! But when e-newsletters containing such treats as this definitely makes the wait worth it. Especially when today over my lunch break {yes, I found a day job to fund my nomadic european life} I was killing time at House of Fraser and thought to myself: "when that first pay cheque arrives I need to visit Mac and stock up on some goodies before the christmas and new years festivities begin". What timing for MAC to release their newest collection for the holidays. Yay!!

Notting Hill Treasures

It's amazing what cute little boutique stores you can find at Notting Hill's Portobello Road Markets. You may remember my last post {here} about these magnificent markets. Well I couldn't help myself and went back again. Hehe. With autumn now in full swing here in London I can't help myself crave another warm vintage style coat.

Vintage at Brick Lane

Quick shopping post. I explored the Brick Lane Markets today with my friend Nat; as a pick me up for just missing out on Glastonbury tickets this morning. Wah :( Anyways this was my first trip {Sunday's are the best days} and came out with these two beautiful vintage one of a kind pieces: a light sweater that could almost be pulled off as a summery top depending on the weather, and a delicate gold necklace. Total cost of 15 quid! Can you believe it! I just love the markets. Can't wait to wear these! You may have noticed that my colour obsession with berry red wine and gold continues {as per my last post} so shouldn't be too hard to match these with the rest of my wardrobe. hehe

Fashion Week...Lace

The four major fashion shows have now come to an end (NY, London, Milan, Paris). *Sigh* It's bitter sweet really: 1) it's over, but 2) the anticipation of the new collections to arrive for the consumer masses re-invigorates the fashion soul {not to mention the next rounds of fashion week soon to come in the next few months}. Yippee!
I've seen countless designs and trends emerging and re-emerging from all four fashion cities for the Spring Summer 2013 season: bold graphic print, colour, structure, romance. But I think my ultimate favourite would have to be lace. An old favourite I know, but this time round we see the lace essence dominating the outfit as a whole, rather than being used as a subtle trimming. Time to shine! Whoop Whoop.

Fashion Week...LFW Mulberry SS 2013

I love the subtle direction Mulberry is moving towards. A sense that the Mulberry girl has gone back to a time of grown up tailoring elegance (in particularly the handbags), with a touch of youthful romanticism. Don't you think? Oh to be swept off your feet. If you look very closely you can see an array of cherry blossoms and the humble gecko. How cute.

Fashion Week...LFW Burberry SS 2013

What can I say, Christopher Bailey never stops to amaze the crowd. Finding inspiration from the Burberry archives he mixes saturated colour with corset tailoring. Brilliant!
