Spotlight On Friends...Campbell Sings

Meet Campbell... a guy who's not afraid to follow his dreams, wherever it may take him. 

Singer, songwriter, DJ, producer - yet he's only 22! Campbell is crazy talented. I was lucky enough to meet Campbell through mutual friends a few months ago here in London. Downright nice guy; funny as hell. Like ha ha funny. Anyways I was impressed by his raw talent and determination to simply make music and share it with the world. He came all the way from New Zealand to take a chance on what he loves. He's got balls. His music is pure. You loose yourself in the lyrics, in the beat. There's an equal balance of ups, downs {if that makes sense at all}. You just want to get lost in the moment and embrace every emotion that comes from it. {Can you tell I'm a massive fan haha He's gonna cringe when he reads this, he's that humble}

Vote Now Triple J

It's that time of year again! Voting for your hottest songs for 2012 on Triple J. I've just voted have you? Only a few more days until voting closes...so hurry! Exactly 20 more days until Australia Day and that's when the biggest party in Australia (and the world due to all us Aussie expats scattered around the globe) come together to hear the countdown. It will definitely be surreal to have to celebrate it on the other side of the world, but I have a funny suspicion that it won't be too hard to find a London pub here in Shepherd's Bush willing to stream the live countdown. Aussie Aussie Aussie!! Australia Day & Triple J

26th of January

It's the most anticipated day of the year. Not only is it Australia Day, our national holiday to celebrate the day in which our country officially became a country back in 1901, but it is also the day in which nearly every Australian (not just in Australia but those living abroad) tunes in to listen to TRIPLE J's HOTTEST 100 COUNTDOWN. Most certainly the only one of its kind on the radio! What a day to celebrate our great nation: having a BBQ with mates with a beer listening to great music! We certainly are the lucky country!

2011 was another stellar year of great music! Here is the top 3 (in order)! 

#1 Gotye - being the favourite it was no surprise when number one was finally played and this powerful duo cranked up the vocals. Well deserved and personally my favourite to win. (P.S. He is amazing live!) 

#1 Gotye featuring Kimbra - Someone That I Used To Know 

#2 The Black Keys - how can you go past this epic song. The music video alone deserves a standing ovation. 

#2 The Black Keys - Lonely Boy

#3 Matt Corby - his rise to fame was from Australian Idol (he was runner up in the 5th season) but he certainly proved to us all that he was more than a pop culture reality tv star. Thank goodness! His vocals are pure and untainted and he's not too shabby with a guitar either.

Totally jumped for joy when I saw this. Duran Duran is back! 
In a once in a life time moment, Harper's Bazaar UK has brought together the Supers (Cindy, Helena, Naomi, Yasmin, Eva) to star in the new Duran Duran short film; which happened to be directed by Jonas Akerlund.

Someone Like You

The much anticipated music video for Adele's successful single from her second album 21 was released on 27 September 2011.

This would have to be my favourite song by far. Not because it is a beautiful love song. 
But because it is a love song where love is lost but hope is not. Adele's voice is strong. Pure raw talent! One of a few artists who can bring such emotion where listeners find strength within themselves to keep moving.
