Birthday Treat

Shout out to all my friends & family who made this year's birthday so special. This year I was lucky (and organised) enough to host my party at The Vista roof top bar overlooking Trafalgar Square. The view simply took my breath away. I certainly felt like a Disney princess... I even looked the part {insert tulle skirt}.

Autumn Leaves

While casually strolling through St James' Park over the weekend it hit me that autumn was nearly done and dusted. It wasn't just the sudden drop in temperature. It was the very fact that there were visibly less leaves on the trees. Sigh. Winter certainly is coming.

The Monument

I realised I hadn't done a post on this spontaneous tourist activity... The Monument. It was built to commemorate the Great Fire of London in 1666. It stands 61m (202 feet) and has a total of 311 steps. Don't let the steps deter you from going up as the 360 degree view of London is well worth it. You can see all of the other city icons quite easily: St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, The Shard, The Gherkin, & London Bridge (just to name a view). By tube you just hope off at The Monument station, too easy. And entrance is a bargain at 3 quid.

My friend Ellena and I (yes the Elle's) decided to climb this tower after work one day as it was a hop and a skip away from both of our offices. That is the wonder of living in London, there are so many historical sights to see that is quite easy to get to. No effort needed. Just the decision to lock it in is the most difficult part. Though I do admit I'm beginning to feel more like a local rather than a tourist, which I find myself favouring weekend social outings over sightseeing. But then again trying new restaurants/cafes/bars like a local is a tourist activity isn't it? Heck it's a win win situation.

*Ellena has now moved back to London since posting this. Miss you girl!

So much talent at this year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show that I couldn't condense it to one post. These simply need to be shared with the world...

The Globe

While exploring the nooks and crevices of this magnificent theatre you can easily see why the classic plays written by the talented Shakespeare has lasted all these years and will forever stay deep in our hearts. The globe theatre alone invokes romance and mysticism. Pinch me am I in a midsummer night's dream...

*update since I posted. I've seen three shows in this theatre: Macbeth, The Tempest, and A Midsummer's Night Dream. Strongly suggest you put this on your to do list for London. Definitely pinch me moment all round, plus you can bring your own food and drinks inside.

Hello Mr Snowman

Yep. It finally snowed. Not just for an hour, but for a whole weekend. I couldn't help myself be obsessed with making miniature snow people. One looking over at St Paul's Cathedral, while the other looking over a beautiful georgian terrace home at my friend Jane's.  When it snows, and you are outside walking the streets, I must say it is the most prettiest memorable sights I have laid my eyes upon. I just couldn't stop smiling all weekend!

One Year of Daydreaming

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAY DREAM BELIEVERS. My blog turns one today! This time last year I was eagerly and stressfully getting myself packed for my first trip to Europe {my first solo trip ever}. What better reason to finally create something I'd been dreaming to do for a long time - a personal online diary to post the photographs I planned to take during my epic euro trip; a much easier version than a scrapbook style diary in a notebook. It would be my platform to express and share the things I hold dear: style, travel and photography.

Now as twelve months have passed, I am again running around getting things organised for another epic euro trip. Though this time round I have surprised and shocked all the people around me by making the exciting {yet equally scary} decision to move to the UK. When July 22nd comes around I will be getting on a big jet plane and saying goodbye to my home of eight years {Brisbane} and all those familiar faces and places. So, here's to the next 12 months in which you'll be seeing more and more of my travels to exotic places; hopefully inspiring you, my beautiful readers, to step outside of your comfort zone and start living the life you want to lead.

Below is a picture of the girl who started it all - Nicole Warne from Gary Pepper Vintage {whom I'd love to meet one day}. Her beautiful shot photographs and exciting adventures inspired me to finally do the things I've always wanted to do but too scared to actually do it. Thank you Nicole xx

London Calling

LFW for Spring/Summer 2011-12 recently finished last week on the 21st September. There's something so unique about London fashion which I can't put my finger on it. This spring/summer season London brought out a sense of soft femininity but in a Rock n Roll I don't give a flying F*** kind of look. Not that this is a new concept for London fashion but it has evolved over the years; embracing more colour.

The colours for spring that came out this season wasn't your usual boring pastels; but you're rich colours of plum, cherry, mustard yellow, peach, olive green - a complete reverse from what we saw in the previous season where it was pop colour - blinding
passer bys by the magnificent bright hues!
London fashion certainly is a creative force to be reckoned with!

Here are a few of my personal favourites:

LFW SS 11/12: Burberry Prorsum
LFW SS 11/12: Christopher Kane

LFW SS 11/12: Sass & Bide

LFW SS 11/12: Roksanda Ilincic
