Photo Diary: Iceland

YES!!! Country number 25 has just been crossed off the list. Getting closer and closer to the goal....30 by 30. With only two years left until my 30th birthday, the deadline, I just can't wait where my passport takes me next!

Here's a few photos I took while I was in Iceland for a weekend with a few hilariously crazy friends. We chased the northern lights, froze our butts off in the Icelandic snowy mountains, gushed over vengeful waterfalls and geysers, and relaxed in thermal baths. Such is life x

Back To The Country

How lovely it is to get back to nature.

I've just gotten back from a hen's weekend in the Granite Belt region in Queensland. To be honest I'm amazed that I grew up in an area so close to magnificent wine country. I had no idea that this beautiful patch of nature was just around the corner from my childhood neighbourhood. This sure was a weekend of fun, laughter, wine, and beautiful countryside. Thanks girls!

Photo Diary: Brighton Pier

This place really does live up to your expectations.

I took a friend here who was visiting from Australia. Might I add I hadn't seen him in years (we went to high school together), and all of a sudden, out of nowhere I get a message that he was in town. It's funny where life takes you and how it reunites you with dear friends. His visit was his last stop of his European adventures before returning home to Oz.

Anyways, at first he was a little reluctant to go but it ended up being the best and funnest {is that even a word?} day ever for him and me. We were back in high school all over again. Brighton really does bring out the child within you.

Miss you Joshy!

Photo Diary: Scottish Highlands

Yep, the season has certainly changed. I had to rummage around for my stockings the other day and retrieve my jackets and jumpers from a suitcase hidden under my bed. It's such a depressing time having to say goodbye to heat, sun, & summer dressing. Not alone the tearful wave goodbye to ice cream. Hopefully these holiday snaps of my last trip to Scotland (with Rabbie's Travel) will remind me that winter has a few breathtaking moments.

Yep, I think I'm ready. A little excited now.

Photo Diary: York

Oh my goodness...have I been slack in posting. I have a valid reason...these past few months have been socially busy...exploring London, the UK, the world. Which have all been most beneficial for my two loves - travel & photography. Talk about full calendar. I think I've only had one weekend in three months where I was able to sit down, drink tea, sort & edit my photos.

Here's the first of many photographic updates; my spontaneous weekend trip to York. York is one of the last remaining walled cities the UK. Romans walked on these lands and built fortresses to make any enemy quiver in their boots. Despite it's military and political history York does have its beauties, magnificent cathedrals! Not to mention the scrumptious Yorkshire puddings are to die for for those food lovers.

Enjoy lovelies. xx

Revisiting Paris

I found a couple of photographs I took while I was visiting Paris during the weekend of New Years Eve. Despite me being robbed on the train, I still hold Paris close to my heart. I hope you can see why.

Year of Change

The year 2012 has been an amazing year for me...a year of change. I hope you all have had a great year, and thank you all (you know who you are) for supporting me throughout the year. I've had some ups and downs, some challenges, some laughs, but overall an amazing year. Here's to 2013!

Jordanian Desert

If you haven't been to Jordan you must try it!

Just over a month ago my two dear friends and I thought we would detour to this relatively unknown travel spot before embarking on a historical Egyptian tour (post coming soon I promise). And what an amazing, breathtaking decision did you we make. Personally, I think Jordan outshone the more popular big brother - Egypt but that's for another post.

We were in the middle east for an epic two weeks in October/November, first stop, a week in Jordan. I knew very little of this country: 1) there would be desert, 2) there would be more desert, 3) the Dead Sea, and 4) Petra (in which I had told the girls that no matter what happened I was going to ride a horse just like Indiana Jones did in the last scenes of The Last Crusades - yep a little childhood dream of mine). What we found in Jordan was a truly magical place. The people {especially Talat our local guide from TravelTalk Tours - seriously guys this isn't a plug because Talat made this trip worthwhile - knowing all of Jordan's local secrets that no tourist could find in any Lonely Planet book}, the food, the landmarks. The Jordanians have so much to be proud of. Each and every desert mountain looked more magnificent than the last. So much vast space certainly brought peace to one's mind; allowing you to contemplate the path you shall or shan't take. I'm in such awe with you Jordan. 'Til we meet again.
